The Unknown Laws of the Soul Are Discovered from the Laws of Creation
In previous lessons, we discussed that the system of creation is a completely mathematical, regulated, and orderly system and that the human being is the central subject of it. This means that the laws of the universe and everything in it are designed and created for and based on the human being’s soul. In fact, God first created the Spirit, which is the true essence of human existence. Then, He created all other beings in the universe from that spirit. Therefore, there is an existential relationship between us as human beings and the system of creation; there is no being that is alien or unrelated to us, even if we may not yet understand the essence of this relationship.
Allah says in the Holy Quran, “It is He who created for you everything on earth…[1]” When a smart person hears this verse—or better say, when they truly grasp the message of this verse— from then on, they view everything through their own perspectives and in relation to themselves. This is because they know that God has created everything for them. Thus, we humans can reach to a point where we conquer the universe and gain benefit from all of its blessings. As Allah says, “And He placed at your service whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on earth… [2]”
Considering what was said, as we are only familiar with some of the laws of the soul and other laws are unknown to us, one of the best ways to benefit from the world of creation is to extract the unknown laws of the soul from the laws governing the world.
Discovering the Unknown Laws of the Soul
We stated that there is harmony and connection between the laws of the soul and the laws of the system of creation; that is, the world of creation is constructed based on the mathematics of our souls, and the laws of our souls exist in the world of creation. In such a way that by discovering the universe, we can discover both our inner selves and the unknown laws of the soul. In fact, using the visible and tangible laws of the universe is an easy way to uncover the unknown laws of the soul. For example, in nature, when a hot air mass arrives during a very cold winter, trees wake up from their long winter slumber. The same is true about the human beings. Whenever they engage in negligence and commit sins for a long time, unexpected events or trials often occur to awaken them and remind them of God.
In another example, research conducted by a Japanese professor named Masaru Emoto has demonstrated that metaphysical concepts influence the structure of water molecules. These concepts also have a significant influence on the structure of our souls. This extensive and authentic research showed that metaphysical concepts have a profound and thought-provoking effect on the molecules and crystalline structure of water. For instance, fresh water that flows out from springs and mountains, since it has not yet been influenced by people’s negative thoughts, forms molecular structures and crystals with beautiful geometric patterns. However, river water running through cities and influenced by people’s negative thoughts have broken, irregular, and ugly crystals. Other examples of this scientific research include the incredible impact of prayer on the beauty of molecules, the remarkable shapes of crystals after reciting the Quran, and the positive or negative effects of different music genres, as well as written words and phrases—both positive and negative—and names of good and bad characters on the shape of water crystals.
The same effects happen in the structure of our souls; if we pay close attention, we can see this effect in our souls. For example, whenever we attend gatherings with honest, vital, and positive-minded people, we feel good and experience positive emotions. Conversely, when we hang out with restless, irritable, sensitive, or spiteful people, we feel bad as if our soul is constricted. The positive impact of reading Quran, praying, and engaging in supplication is deniable, as are the different effects of reading books or listening to different musical genres on our souls and spiritual vitality.
The key point here is that if we want to discover the unknown laws of the soul, we must engage in contemplation rather than fall into the veil of habit. There are many laws in the system of creation and the created beings around us which can serve as keys to uncovering the unknown laws of the soul.
In this lesson, we discussed discovering the unknown laws of the soul through the laws of Creation. We stated that the Almighty Allah created the entire universe and the system of creation for us and because of us; as a result, there is a profound relationship between the laws of our souls and the laws of the entire universe. We should view the entire universe in a way that we can learn from each created being and the laws of the universe, extracting the unknown laws of the soul from them.
